Making Choices with Maxtrix: Loft Bed Styles for Your Child's Stage

Posted on

Maxtrix® Kids is a modular furniture system that allows you to configure and reconfigure your child's bedroom as their needs and preferences change — without having to replace your child's existing basic bedroom furniture pieces. The very same Basic Bed can be used as a Toddler Bed at first and then used as the central piece in a Low Storage Loft, later as a Mid-Loft used as a Play Loft and then, a few years later, as either a High-Loft used as a Study Loft or combined with other Beds to form a Corner Loft or Triple Bunk Bed.

In this post, we'll help you imagine some specific possibilities.

Maxtrix Low-Loft Bed with Staircase, Slide, and Castle Accessories

You want to leave some open floor space for your preschooler to play, but the small bedroom simply doesn't allow for that once you add a dresser and bookshelf. With Maxtrix, you can elevate the Bed to a Low Loft Bed without compromising safety. To make getting into bed as safe as possible, add the Staircase — which also offers added storage potential. And to make getting down not only safe but extra fun, you can add a Low Loft Slide. The Top Tent and Tower will equip this Play Loft for your little prince or princess to have many adventures.

You can choose whether to position the storage pieces beneath the bed or leave under-bed space open, complete with a matching Underbed Curtain. If you choose to position storage pieces, such as a Maxtrix Dresser and Bookcase beneath the Storage Loft, you won't need to utilize the Crown and Base pieces; however, you could add those pieces later if you choose to use the storage pieces elsewhere in the room.

Maxtrix Corner Mid-Loft Bed with Desk, Angled Ladder, and Mattress Cover

As your child grows out of the Play Loft stage and no longer requires extra safety measures, you can transform the same Bed described above into a Study Loft that doubles as a casual hang-out spot. Leg extenders utilize the Maxtrix Rock-Lock Connectors, allowing you to further elevate the bed without fear of instability. When you add a second Maxtrix Bed in a corner configuration, you'll still have room for storage pieces beneath one bed, while making room to add a Maxtrix Desk beneath the other one.

You can then cover one Bed with a Maxtrix Mattress Cover along with matching Pillows and Bolsters for creating a Daybed that looks much like a sofa — perfect for playing video games or studying with a buddy. The Angled Ladder will still offer safety as your child climbs up and down, but without taking up the extra space of a Staircase.
